Historical note
Great creators - thinkers, artists, scientists, inventors - faced the society of their time alone. Every great new thought was met with resistance. Every great invention was rejected. The first engine was considered a folly. The aeroplane was considered impossible to construct. The mechanical loom was cursed. Anaesthesia for sinful. But people who had their own vision pushed forward. They fought, suffered and paid. The entrepreneur's only motive for proceeding was the truth. His own truth and his own quest to achieve it in his own way. An engine, a book, a philosophy, an aeroplane or a building - this was the purpose of their lives. Not those who listened, read, operated, believed, flew or inhabited the house he created. The work, not its users. His vision, strength and courage came from his own spirit. And by living this way, the entrepreneur was able to create the things that today are the pride of humanity.
People have been taught that it is a virtue to agree with others. An entrepreneur is someone who disagrees. People have been taught that it is a virtue to go with the flow, but an entrepreneur is someone who goes against the flow. People have been taught that the virtue is to stick together, but an entrepreneur is someone who stands alone. And we are right behind him, supporting him in everything he does. And that's how we see our role. We work as partners, we support entrepreneurs, we respect each other and clients, we are not servile, we respect our time together, and honesty and discretion are the most important values for us. I have presented our values because I have no intention of living by any other. We admire entrepreneurs because we are entrepreneurs ourselves. Because successful entrepreneurs are social benefactors who do not appropriate the wealth of others, but contribute to the general welfare. Ultimately, the successful entrepreneur is a hero.
